Please realize the many factors that go into keeping this gradebook up to date, just to name a few:

• time needed to prepare current lessons

• time available outside of work hours to spend on grading and entering into the gradebook

• absent students and the need for them to make-up missed work

Late work received after the due date is only accepted 24 hours after the due date for 50% of grade received. This will not be a tool to use for a parent to be responsible instead of the student and make their child do work and turn it in many days after it was originally due because the parent sees a zero in the gradebook. I do realize missing assignments may happen from time to time and that is why I offer many ways to get extra credit.

Please follow the following process before emailing me about your student’s grade:

• Discuss what you see with your child and ask them for information & explanations.

• Have your child speak with me in class the next day about what may be ocurring with their grade.

• Follow-up with your child regarding their discussion with me.

• E-mail me with any comments, questions or concerns only AFTER you have completed the previous 3 steps.

I use a weighted grade system as follows:

Stock Market Game 10%

Homework 40%

Tests 40%

Quizzes 10%
