9/27 We are continuing review work on grammar and usage. Tomorrow, Wednesday, 9/28, students will take a short quiz over the elements we have studied in class: nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, participials, participial phrases, adverbial subordinate clauses, superlative adjectives and superlative adverbs. On Thursday, students will be taking the DORA reading assessment.

9/22 It was a pleasure meeting parents last night at Open House. I am looking forward to seeing you again at conferences. Don’t forget Meap testing will be done the weeks of October 10 and 17. Homework, due Monday: complete the Textbook Scavenger Hunt.

Week of 9-19: We are continuing to work on strengthening reading comprehension skills. This week, the emphasis will be on Informative Reading, which includes research reports, persuasive essays, biographies, autobiographies, correspondence, and brochures.
