About Your Teacher

Welcome to Mrs. Dreyer’s Science Class.  Allow me to share a bit of information about myself.  This will be my tenth year teaching science, nine of which have been here in the eighth grade at Seneca.  I’ve wanted to be a teacher since the fifth grade, and I’m truly blessed to be able to “work” at what I love to do.  I hold a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Michigan where I majored in Mathematics and minored in Science.  Later, I earned my Masters of Science Education from Lawrence Technological University.  Most recently, I earned a Masters of Science in Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia University.  I love to be a student, almost as much as I love to be a teacher!  I am happily married to junior high science teacher.  The joy of my life is my two little boys, John,5 and Patrick, 3.  Now that both of my boys are up and about, my favorite hobby is geocaching – my boys can’t get enough of the outside, and I love a good puzzle.  If I have to stay in, I love to play my piano and sing.  I was part of a Beatles Tribute Band with my dad and my sister (although being a parent has made it nearly impossible to perform together recently). Traveling is a passion of mine, as my classroom collection of magnets will show.  A cruise to the Caribbean is hands-down my favorite.  I love Starbucks, my guilty pleasure is brownies, and the cookie jar is always full of Oreos.  This year we got our first goldendoodle, Timber. She’ll be a year-old in December.  She’s a big, slobbery mess of fur, and we love her.  That’s a bit about me.  Welcome to our classroom – it’s going to be a great year!
