Students dissected an ACT prompt and did an in-class practice writing as a group. Students also did a 30- minute ACT practice writing on their own. Students are able to turn in this 4th prompt as for a replacement grade for the ACT prompt (1-3) they received back in class today.

Indpendent_Reading_Project Students were given a handout that explains the upcoming Independent Reading Project that is due March 14th. Students took notes on nouns. For homework students were asked to find the six different types of nouns within the Douglass narrative. Students should highlight the sentences and label the nouns.
Students took their 11th grade, mid-year, common assessment. Students took ACT grammar notes. Students started reading “Gulliver’s Travels.”
Students were refreshed on Realism and Frederick Douglass. Students worked on the “Author’s Purpose” worksheet in class. We discussed the answers as a group. Students took ACT practice reading test #1. We went over some of the responses that students had trouble with. “A Modest Proposal” Graphic Organizer and Response worksheets were handed in.
