If you still have a textbook or a school-issued copy of a novel or play, you must get them scanned in or you will be fined. Textbooks are scanned in at South Center. Plays and novels are scanned in at East Center.

Students checked Chapter 11 guided reading questions together as a class. Students were given the remaining time to read Chapter 12 and complete the guided reading questions. Students will be given time in class tomorrow to work on Chapter 12 questions and the review worksheets, which are all due Monday. Students took the unit test over A Raisin in the Sun. All four of the review worksheets were submitted for a grade. Students should be prepared to compose their response to writing prompt #4 tomorrow in class.

Students checked the Chapters 6-9 open book quiz and Chapter 10 guided reading questions in class. Students were given the remainder of the hour to read Chapter 11 and answer the guided reading questions.

Students in 1st and 4th hours went over the review worksheets and discussed what to expect on the unit test. Students were permitted to keep their review worksheets to study this evening. Students in 5th hour chose to use the hour to socialize and did not get the same benefit of a test review. Students submitted their Conflict Mini Projects and Chapter 9 guided reading questions at the beginning of the hour. Students also received their review worksheets for the novel unit. Students took the Chapters 6-9 open book quiz.

Students received the review worksheets for the unit (plot structure map, literary elements, characterization, and theme worksheets). Students were told that they may skip the the final question on the back of the theme worksheet. All work is due tomorrow so that the class can review for the unit test which will be on Thursday.  

Due to the half day, no new material was introduced. Students were given the hour to complete homework.

Students submitted Chapter 8 guided reading questions for a grade. Students read Chapter 9 orally in class and were given the remainder of the hour to work on their guided reading questions.

Students took the Act III open book quiz. Act III guided reading questions were collected at the end of the hour to give students extra time to go back and make the necessary corrections.
