Students checked vocabulary exercises #31-32, which was collected for a grade. Students also checked the Chapters 4-5 quiz that was given yesterday. Due to a lack of cooperation and an excess of disruption, students need to respond to question #8 from the Chapter 5 worksheet for homework. There simply was not enough time to complete the response in class after Mrs. Fisher repeatedly requested the class to listen. Remember the response must be written in paragraph format with two direct quotes for support. This response is due tomorrow for an essay grade. Students also need to read Chapter 6 and complete all the corresponding guided reading questions, due tomorrow.

Students checked Chapter 4 questions in class and began reading Chapter 5 orally. Students were given time in their groups to discuss the close and critical reading section. For homework, students need to finish reading Chapter 5 and complete the questions. Students should come to class on Monday prepared to discuss what they highlighted for the close and critical reading section. As a result of today’s great group discussions, the quiz over Chapters 4-5 will be postponed until Tuesday–provided that productive discussions continue on Monday so make sure you come prepared!
