Well, the results are in!!! After taking a bite out of a gingerbread-man cookie, we graphed our results. And, the winner is…….head, with foot a close second. Thanks to Nathan for completing his graph and allowing me to put it on our blog. Ask your child which part they ate first.

December 18, 2009: Polar Express PJ Party

It was great to see everyone in their pajamas, slippers, and robes today. We went to the gym in the afternoon for our Polar Express Pajama Party. First, we had to use our gold tickets to board the “train”. We sat in there to listen to Mrs. Short read The Polar Express story. Then we went over and enjoyed some hot chocolate and bell-shaped sugar cookies. Finally, we went to the craft table to make a reindeer ornament. Afterwards. we all went to the media center to watch The Polar Express movie. When we got back to our room, we each received a Polar Express treat bag to take home. What a wonderful day!!!!!!

December 17, 2009: Santa Night

It was great to see so many come out to attend our annual Santa Night. The night started out with Santa reading a Christmas classic to all of the children. Then they got to get their picture taken with Santa and enjoy cookies and juice. There was lots of hammering going on as children made wooden crafts. Many also went down to check out the book fair in the Media Center.

What a wonderful culminating activity to our month long unit on how different countries celebrate this time of year. The whole second grade went to the gym all morning to make crafts, play games and eat food from many different countries that we have learned about. A GREAT BIG THANK YOU TO ALL OF OUR WONDERFUL VOLUNTEERS WHO SENT IN YUMMY FOOD OR CAME IN AND HELPED OUT!!!! We could not of had this wonderful experience without all of you.
