January 8, 2013: CONGRATULATIONS
Yesterday we began our Mad Minute clubs. Everyone started in the 2 minute club. When students get 100% in the two minute club, they move into the one minute club. They then have one minute to complete the Mad Minute. When they get 100% doing it in one minute, they become “Math Superstars”, and will then try to get 100% in less than a minute. I would like to congratulate the following students who got 100% yesterday and have moved into the 1 minute club:
KADEN, ALISON, JORDAN, HOLLY, MATT, BLAKE, HANNAH
January 7, 2013: Geometry Game
I just found this fun geometry game. You have to classify 2D and 3D shapes. You have to drag the shapes to the correct basket. The shapes go by REALLY fast, so you have to be on your toes. If you would like to play the game, just click on the picture below. Leave a comment here and let us know what you thought of the game.
December 14, 2012: Active Expressions
As we are trying to increase our knowledge of basic addition and subtraction facts, we have been using our Active Expressions. These hand held devices can be used to solve basic addition and subtraction problems. Mrs. Short sets it up and generates 100 problems at a time. When we are ready, we turn on our devices. An addition or subtraction problem shows up on our screen. We enter and send our answer and then it goes to the next problem. When we are done, Mrs. Short can see our results, how many and which ones were correct/incorrect and how long it took us to answer the problems. Here are a few pictures of us using our Active Expressions.
