September 1, 2015: WELCOME!!!

Hello Everyone!!

Welcome to third grade! I am very excited to be teaching third grade this year. Some of you may know me as Ms. Short, but I was recently married and have changed my name to Mrs. Goy. It was nice seeing some of you at the Open House today and can’t wait to see everyone on the first day of school next Tuesday!! Enjoy your last few days of summer

May 15, 2015: Book Treasure Book

This week we read Super Supper for our book treasure book. Yesterday, your child should have brought home a retelling sheet, their envelope and a little snake. This is a great book for sequencing events. Students can retell the order that the snake ate the animals. Sorry, I couldn’t find a recording or video of the book…, you’re on your own this week! Don’t forget, if you would like to leave your retelling here, just click on comment and don’t forget to write “blog” on your retelling sheet. Retelling sheets are due by Tuesday.

May 8, 2015: Book Treasure Book

Today, we read, The Rainbow Fish, written by Marcus Pfister. The Rainbow Fish is about a little fish who thought he was too good to play with the other fish. He learns his lesson about sharing. Your child should have brought home their envelope, retelling sheet and a “shimmering scale” to put in their treasure chest. Your child needs to write a detailed retelling of the story. Retelling sheets and envelopes are due back to school by Tuesday. If you would like to listen to the story again, just click below to watch a video of it on Storyline Online.

May 7, 2015: Mad Lib Project

Last week we created a silly story in an app called Mad Libs. When we were done, we illustrated our stories. Take a look at our pictures below of our Mad Libs stories. Just click on the picture to view the whole story.

May 6, 2015: Tellagami Project

This week we wrote about the story elements in one of our book basket books. Then we made a “Gami” in an app called Tellagami. We designed our person and background, then we recorded our voices reading our presentations about our story elements. There is a 30 second time limit, so please excuse some of us who were speaking quickly to get it all in:-) Just click on the picture below to get to our classroom weebly to view/listen to our presentations.
