The Sneetches- Souvenir Bit

This week’s book is The Sneetches by Dr. Seuss. It’s one of my favorites! The students will be bringing home their souvenir bits today. Just like last week, you are welcome to leave your child’s response as a comment under this blog post. If you choose to submit the homework via blog, just send back the homework sheet and write “blog” on it so I know it was completed. Please make sure the post is submitted by the time school starts tomorrow. If you have any questions, please let me know:-)

  1. There where some Sneetches who had star on their bellies and all other Sneetches did not. The Sneetches who had the star thought they are the best, they where playing with each other and not with the one who does not have a star. Until a stranger guy came to them and told them if you pay me money I have a machine that can put a star on your bellies, they believed him and they paid him money and went into the machine and they had the star on, and the guy told the Sneetchs with the stare if you pay me money I have a machine that can took off your star, for you to be the best, they believed him and went to the off machine, the stranger guy tricked them and took all their money and went a way. Then all the Sneetches become friend with each other, they thought it does not matter if we have star or not we all the same.

  2. The star belly sneetches were mean to the plain belly sneetches, saying they were better than the plain bellies. The stay belly sneetches would not let the plain belly sneetches play with them, or eat with them and they did this for a very long time. Then Sylvester McMonkey McBean came to town and said if you pay me I will make you a stay belly sneetch, so they paid him and they were happy to be stay belly sneetches. Then Sylvester McMonkey McBean told the original stay belly sneetches that if they paid him he could remove their stars and so they did. Then it would not stop the stars would come on and then off and they kept paying Sylvester McMonkey McBean until they ran out of money. Then Sylvester McMonkey McBean left and the sneetches realized that it is not about what they look like
