Welcome Letter

Dear Parents,

Welcome to second grade!!! I hope that everyone had a wonderful summer. My name is Amy Laidlaw, and I am very excited to be your child’s second grade teacher this year. I plan on this being a terrific year for all of us, especially your child.

This is my third year at Eisenhower Elementary. I have been teaching for Fraser Public Schools for 20 years. I completed my master’s degree in Reading and Language Art 11 years ago at Oakland University. This year your child will be engaged in many hands-on activities to get them involved in what they are studying. My goal is to help students become active in their education so they enjoy learning new ideas and concepts that they can take with them throughout their educational career.

I am eager to meet you, the parents. I believe working together as a team helps to enhance your child’s education. I will be sending home periodic notes and a Round trip folder to keep you updated on your child’s progress. I look forward to a year full of fun and learning!! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me by note or phone 439-6600.

Thank you,

Amy Laidlaw
