A PEEK AT THE WEEK

SPELLING-Unit 2 words are: their, which, said, if, do. Please practice your words nightly. Some of last weeks words will show up on the test Friday. The skill this week is working with short vowel words.

READING-We have started working on Writing about books. The children are writing their favorite part and retelling- beginning, middle and end of books. We are also going to start partner reading this week. With a focus on talking about books instead of just reading to each other.

WRITING-We are launching writers workshop and listening to small moment stories-setting up to write our own.

MATH-we are nearing the end of Unit 1. Look for review sheets to come home the beginning of next week with the test planned for the end of next week.

The children do not know who is coming…but try to guess from 5 clues you provide. The mystery reader can be anyone: grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, older brothers and sisters and of course mom’s and dad’s. Below are the available dates!

Meet the Teacher Night

Eisenhower Meet The Teacher Night

 MEET THE TEACHER NIGHT

Our Meet The Teacher Night this year will be held on Wednesday, September 12th, from 5:30PM-7:00PM.  While we love our students, this night is meant for PARENTS ONLY to get information on everything Eisenhower, and bringing students in on this evening is disruptive to the presentation process.  We appreciate your help with this.
Each teacher will present their grade’s curriculum, along with policies and procedures in each of their classrooms.  The first classroom presentation will be from 6:00-6:25PM.  They will then repeat this presentation from 6:35-7:00PM, with the night wrapping up at that 7:00PM time.  Before each classroom presentation, Mr. Metty will do a “Meet and Greet” in the Gym for those interested from 5:30PM-5:50PM and again from 6:30-6:50PM.
Following our presentations for the evening at 7:00PM, all 6th grade parents are invited to a Camp meeting in the Gym where representatives will be here to talk about the camp process and answer any questions parents may have about this great experience coming up at the end of September.
