Do you ever wonder what the weather is like in different parts of the world? Is it similar to where you live or very different? Well, that’s a question that’s been on the Techie Kids minds lately. We thought we’d share a little about our current season with you.
Fall is a season of change for us here in Michigan. The temperature has started to get cooler. We now need long sleeves, long pants, sweatshirts, and coats. Some days we even need our hats and gloves. One of the main changes that you can see here is the beautiful change in the leaves. The colorful display is stunning! The leaves change from green to red, orange, yellow, brown, and even dark purple. We also love when the leaves start to fall off the trees. This is because we can rake them up into a big pile and jump in them!
Some of our favorite fall activities are football and bonfires. Football is something the Techie Kids love to play and watch. We play football in our backyards, watch the high school games live or watch the college and national games on the television. We also like to get together with family and friends for a bonfire. Many people have bonfire pits in their backyards. People can visit with each other while cooking foods over the heat. A campfire favorite of ours is S’Mores! * * Click here to watch a video that 3rd grade Techie Kids made last year to explain why we have different seasons in different parts of the world.
This year’s 3rd graders have started working with the digital cameras and learning how to take quality pictures. Take a look at some of the pictures we took this year and see some of the changes that we see here during the fall season.

We just love learning with our friends around the world!
Mrs. Eldridge teaches a group of 4-7 year old children in North Yorkshire, England.
The idea for this project began when she shared with us that their school is located right next to an old castle. We thought that would be very fun. None of the Kinder-Techie Kids have seen a real castle before.
Mrs. Eldridge decided to post pictures of Middleham Castle on her blog, The Class Around the Corner. Our Kindergarten students were amazed!
They started to imagine what it would be like to live there. The children shared their ideas about who could have lived there. They thought about what it might look like inside or what the floor plans might have looked like.
The Kindergarteners took their ideas and wonderings and used our computer drawing programs to create their own castle.
After we started our project, Mrs. Eldridge and Mr. Eldridge went to Bolton Castle on their vacation. They took more pictures and sent us another message with incredible images of the inside and outside of the castle. The pictures are spectacular! The 5 and 6 year olds continued to add to their designs and ideas.
These are some of the pictures that inspired us.
