The Techie Kids have begun talking about Book Recommendations.
Each year, we look for quality texts at home, at school, and online. When we find something fabulous, we want to tell others about it! We found some wonderful resources a few years ago from Mrs. Newingham. We use her Genre Study Posters and Peer Book Recommendation Forms.
Please leave a comment to share your book recommendations with us.
If you are looking for a book to review, here are some websites to visit that have online stories to read or listen to:
You might be interested in reading some of the fairytales.

(I think this wonderful author website was shared with us last year by Mrs. Watson, thanks!)
What book are you reading right now and how do you feel about it?
Can you share with us a fabulous book that you’ve read recently and just what makes it so great?
If you had to pick your favorite genre, please tell us which you would choose and share an example.
Try out this Scholastic widget to find books, authors, and genres.
Hey it’s Abby! Today we are talking about Video Games. Now video games are fun, cool, and awesome, but what about our health? Now in my opinion you should only play at the most three video game networks, because if you have more you will want to play it more. You sit still to play video games. If you are sitting still and not being active you can become obese! Obese is just a nicer word than fat!! Now I’m just trying to get you to relize what harm can do to you if you become a video nut! Just remeber to be healthy, active, and just have fun!!
Leave a comment and tell us your favorite video game AND your favorite outside activity.

Hey, it’s Kayla and Rebeka here. We went to the movie theater on Wednesday to see the movie Oceans. In this movie there are weird animals that swerve around in the cool, damp sea. You can learn about many other animals when you see this movie. You can see us when we post our next story. If you see it we hope you enjoy it too. See ya.

Hey it’s the JJ Duo, and for the first time were hitting your thoughts on the NBA in some opinions the greatest rivalry ever! Celtics and Lakers. Now in my opinion and many more the Lakers hands down are going to sweep the competition and win for the second year in a row and the one starter and star who’s going to lead them there is the one and only Kobe Bryant. I mean he is the greatest game saver in the world I think he is going to be the only star to win three champioships in a row since Micheal “Air” Jordan. Really I don’t think that LeBron James has what it takes to live up to Jordan’s number. I don’t think it’s going to happen I don’t but, Kobe has what it takes he has Jordan’s if you gaurd me i’m just going to move around you somehow method. Nobody really has been able to do things the way these two basketball heros have . I think were done. JJ Duo signing out and be sure to comment on who you like most or who you think is going to win. See you for part 2.

I’d like to know how many of you have ever gone fishing, and if you have gone fishing, how big was the biggest fish you caught? For those of you who haven’t ever gone fishing before, try it! Its pretty fun as long as you have a ton of patience, and can handle a hook. P.S. If you don’t like touching worms, don’t try fishing.
Hey it’s Abby and Nicole! We want to tell you about a book we have read! The book is called Adopted by an Owl! It is a true story about an owl named Jackson! Jackson (as a baby) gets stolen out of his nest. A man named Chris, with a licence, comes to take care of him! One last detail they set him free at the end but… can’t tell you the rest so check it out!
It’s almost the end of the year. Remember during summer break please consider the following:
*playing a sport
*just play outside for at least an hour
You can still be on the computer, TV, or your portable game systems. Just don’t do it for too long because third graders and under, you guys have to have a program in fourth grade called Healthy Kids Healthy Hearts. They show you how to stay healthy. They even give you an assignment to do. At the end there’s a jeopardy game the team that wins gets a extra prize. So you should start now. even after the program you should still be healthy and exercise. So just remember to stay healthy and active.
