IT’S TIME TO RETIRE

AS MOST OF YOU KNOW BY NOW I AM RETIRING, TUESDAY IS MY LAST DAY.

I’VE BEEN AT THIS FOR 43 YEARS AND I STILL CAN’T GET IT RIGHT.

WHEN I STARTED TEACHING JIMMY CARTER WAS PRESIDENT, GAS WAS 43 CENTS A GALLON,

AND THE MAIN DRAG IN TOWN, 23 MILE ROAD WAS A SMALL THREE LANE ROAD, NOW IT’S  A SUPER HIGHWAY.

I SAY ALL THIS TO SAY THANKS TO ALL THE MOM’S AND DAD’S THAT TRUSTED ME TO WORK WITH THEIR KIDS.

AND I WANT TO SAY THANK YOU TO ALL THE KIDS I TAUGHT OVER THE YEARS, IT’S BEEN GREAT.

I AM NOT SURE WHAT WILL BE THE FATE OF THE SKINNY SO STAYED TUNED AND KEEP CHECKING IN.

AHHH Im sooo sad . Mr. Alvaro told us something very sad.  I still can’t beleive it.

HE’S ReTIRING!!!!   He said we are his last class before he retires. 

He will continue The Skinny he says.

  Wait… who will replace him?  Will it be Jalyn? No she would eat chicken the whole time.  Ciyah? No she’s too funny and cute.  Jessica?  NO wayyyyyyy to pretty.

Who will take his spot? I”m  just SO sad.  I guess when we leave the school this year and were not his students anymore, there”sno point in teaching here.

Well it’s the perfect weather for a sad day, rainy and cloudy.

I guess that’s all today on my very special edition of Maddy’s muze.  There’s no use in doing it in caps when there’s no excitement.

Hey people it’s Maddie here on this wonderful Tuesday.

Ahhhhhhhhh Tonight  is Band-o-Rama!!!  It’s at Middle School south at 6:30.  I play the saxophone!  I’m so exited!

Anyways today we did dividing fractions in math.  Don’t you just hate math?

We also went in the computer lab.  I am doing really well on Raz-Kids

In science we did traits with corn.  It was fun.

Yaaa no homework for me!!!!!!!!

WE STARTED OUT THIS LESSON SHARING WHAT WE KNEW ABOUT AUNTS, WHICH MADE ALL THE UNCLE FEEL LEFT OUT SO WE TALKED ABOUT THEM.

THEN I ASKED YOU WHAT YOU KNEW ABOUT ANTS AND BOY DO YOU KNOW A LOT.  TO LEARN MORE YOU CAN CLICK ON THIS SENTENCE AND YOU WILL GET A CHANCE TO LEARN MORE ABOUT ANTS THAN YOU EVER WANTED TO KNOW.

BUT I DIGRESS.

NEXT I READ YOU THE BOOK, HEY LITTLE ANT BY THE HOOSES.   I WAS PRETTY SURPRISED AT HOW MANY OF YOU WANTED TO SQUISH THE ANT WHEN THE STORY WAS OVER.

AND FINALLY WE GOT TOGETHER WITH OUR PARTNERS AND WROTE AN OPINION PAPER USING THE FORMAT BELOW.  LATER THIS WEEK I WILL VIDEO TAPE SOME OF YOU SHARING YOUR PAPER AND POST IT HERE ON THE SKINNY.

                                Anchored

     Our anchor’s too big for our ship,

So we’re sittin’ here tryin’ to think.

If  we leave it behind we’ll be lost.

If we haul it aboard we will sink.

If we it and keep talkin’ about it,

It will soon be too late for our trip.

It sure can be rough on a sailer,

When the anchor’s too big for the ship.
