It was summer.
It was the summer before my first year of high school. School was starting in two days and my mom decided it was time for a haircut. My mom usually cut my hair but my dad, for some strange reason, decided he wanted to cut it and cut it he did.
When he was done I looked at it in the mirror and was surprised to see he did a pretty good job.
Two days later school starts. It was my first year of high school and I didn’t know too many kids so I was kind of nervous. The day went ok. But when I got home I told my mom that I had the strangest feeling that everyone was staring at me and laughing.
She grinned and said they probably were. When I asked her why she told me the there was a big nick in the back on my head where my dad cut a big chunk of hair out and couldn’t fix it.
That’s my bad hair day story. I can laugh about it now but back then it wasn’t too funny.
Now it’s your turn. I want you to think about a time your hair cut went bad. You are going to write a five paragraph narrative to share that experience.
Use the worksheet we went over in class today and your notes on the back to put together a great story.
Smile! Tomorrow is picture day so dress your best. Pick out your best smile and your best pose!
