Here are the  activities for your Sign of the Beaver Project.

To print a copy of any of these activities you just need to highlight the text,  go up to File, print, and here’s the important part, click the selection button, then hit OK and your can go over to the library and pick up your copy.

#4 Eyewitness Account

You are a young report working the Maine Territory walking through the woods to interview this young boy Matt that you heard about when you hear quite a commotion coming from across the lake.   As you look across the lake you see a young boy trying to grab some honey from some very angry bees and in the blink of an eye you watch the bees attack Matt and chase him to the water.

Your job is to write up the event for your newspaper and publish for us.  You will need to go over to this site, The Gazette, follow the directions and print up two copies of your story.

#7  Character Poems

I want you to create a poem using the site listed below.  The twist here is that I want you to write it as if you are Matt, Attean, Saknis, or any of the characters in the book.

So first pick who you want to be, then go off to the site, and choose what type of poem you are going to compose.

You may choose from the following titles:

1.  All About Me

2.  Biography

3.  I am

4.  Yes, That’s Me

Print out two sheets, one for your rough draft and the other for you final copy.

#14  Worldle or Crossword

Abby is the “go to” girl on this activity.

You are to create a Worldle (wordle.net)  or crossword puzzle with 15-20 Sign of the Beaver related words for me.   If you chose do to a Wordle .    I would also like you to type in the words “The Sign of the Beaver”  about eight times so it is larger than the rest.

If you want extra credit, find a paragraph or two online to copy and paste into your wordle instead.

#15 Create a New Cover

You guessed it.  I’d like you to create a cover for the book.   Pick out a favorite scene from the book and Illustrate it.  You can get paper for this in the #15 folder.
