It’s time for the 8th Annual
LMS Egg Drop Contest.
I know, I can’t believe it either but we’ve been dropping eggs off the roof for 8 years now and it’s time to do it once again.
The contest is set for the morning of
November 30th.
So your job is to design an Egg Transport Vehicle (ETV) that will keep your egg (a medium sized raw egg I supply that morning) from breaking after I drop it about 17 feet off the Lottie roof onto the concrete sidewalk below.
There are a million sites online to steal get some great ideas from. Just Google “Egg Drop” with your mom and dad and you will be all set.
THE RULES:
1. Your ETV must not measure more that 12x12x12 inches.
2. You must design and build your own ETV. You can’t use glass or anything that would mess up the environment in your design.
3. Parachutes are not allowed.
4. You must be able to place your egg into your ETV just prior to your drop.
**********************************
A couple of moms will be on ground. You will open your ETV in front of THEM right after it hits the ground. Their decision is final as to whether the egg is cracked or not.
If you follow the rules and your egg isn’t cracked or damaged in any way your name goes into the hat and one of the moms will draw three names for an awesome, tasty prize. In addition to these three prizes, the judges will award two prizes for the most creative design. This is a subjective decision of the judges.
If your egg doesn’t crack you got an A. If it doesn’t you got a B.
So what are you waiting for. Put those thinking caps on and get thinking.
