I was pleasantly surprised this morning when I checked The Skinny and found an note from Katelyn.
Sounds like her summer is going great.
What have you been doing. I have been to Emmaville to see Ethan and Emma and to Buffalo to see Julia. I also have been doing a ton of stuff around the house. I actually need a vacation from my vacation.

Hey Mr.Alvaro , how are you ???? While let me tell you how my summer is going it is going awesome because i get to go to a older summer camp instead of a camp with tons of little kid !!!! yeah , hip hip heara . I am having a great summer but there is one thing wrong I …..miss you so, so ,so, much . So how is Abby doing did you go to the hospital when she got her hip broke and had to get a metal plate in her hips ????? I saw her when she got out of the hospital . she is doing good she is getting around pretty good she is outside playing games that she can play in a wheelchair . so i just want to touch in with you to see how your are doing and by the way i saw Amy and Sarah before Sarah moved to a different school they are doing good by i am going to miss Sarah K . I also saw Dylan . he is doing good helping out Abby and that is all the people from our class that i saw so far this summer i will keep you up dated . Have a great day .

Most of you have heard of a typewriter but many of you have never seen nor typed on one. They had a most amazing sound. Once you heard the sound of the keys typing away you never forget it.
They have an amazing history and lots of people claim to be it’s inventor.
They have been around for a couple hundred years or so. I met my first typewriter in 1966 when I took a typing class. I can still remember my typing teacher putting on music and having us type to it.
I say all that to introduce this video.
THE BOYS OF SUMMER

I spent the weekend in Port Austin with these guys earlier this month. We started playing putt putt and then went to have a nice, tasty ice cream.
Although they look rough and tumble, unshaven, smelly, not very intelligent, unclean, socially inept, oh the list could go on and on, they are basically a nice group of boys who were all recently released from various county institutions for the day under my care.
Look at the scoops of ice cream some of those guys have. How they can eat all that and know children in China are starving is beyond me. Collectively I count 37 scoops of ice cream scoops in those cones.
They had a great time and only got into trouble once or twice during the day but the police didn’t press charges and all was forgotten.
Looks like they had a great time.

Hello everyone it’s me Mike M. again and once again it’s time for another book review. This time I’m reviewing the Fablehaven series.
In this book series Seth and Kendra’s Grandparents die in a freak accident and they are shipped to there other grandparents house which they soon find out is a refuge for magical creatures such as faeries, demons, ogres, satyrs, centaurs, trolls and much much more.
These are great books and there is a total of 5 in the series. As always the best place you can get them is at the Chesterfield Township Library. You could order them from Amazon.

A TALE FOR THE SUMMER

I found a great book that I want to read to my next fifth grade class in the fall but it is so good that I can’t wait till the fall. So what I thought I’d do is read it to you now. Every couple of days I will read to a chapter or two for you. I also have some mystery readers lined up so keep a sharp eye out.
It’s called Jack Sparrow, The Coming Storm . It’s about how Jack got to be Captain Jack. If you like what you hear you can order the book here or wait till the fall and get it from the book club.

Later today I am going to start a series about a young Jack Sparrow. It’s a chapter book I am going to read to you all summer long.
Today’s story is called Stone Pizza. It’s by Susan Mitchell. I really liked reading it, I hope you like listening to it.
